I took these photographs of birds in and around Chennai, during a recent visit to India.

I have also photographed birds in the U.S., Antarctica, Falkland Islands and elsewhere. My photos can be seen on Instagram, where my handle is seaswarnyc. I grew up in Chennai and migrated to the U.S.; I live in New York,

No matter where in the world, crows and raptors, which are birds of prey, just don’t get along. Early one morning, by the Adyar River in Chennai, I saw a House Crow heckling and trying to chase away a Black Kite. (c) Suresh Easwar.

In January, Suresh Easwar got local media coverage for his photographs of a Bald Eagle in New York’s Central Park. The eagle, which is native to North America, is a rare sight in the park. A symbol of the United States, its image appears on currency, flags and other items of the military and government.
