Black fungus infections are causing loss of eyes and deaths in some recovering COVID-19 patients in India who have diabetes.

Baba Ramdev, a yoga guru and swami, is peddling a potion that he claims will get rid of the infections.

Ramdev, who has no medical or other college education, also offers cures for cancer, diabetes, arthritis and several other ailments, which have not been approved by any credible authority.

This month, following a recommendation of the government of Uttar Pradesh, colleges and universities in the state are including one of Ramdev’s books on Yoga in their undergraduate philosophy curriculum. The government in India’s largest state is run by the Bharatiya Janata Party, which also rules India with Narendra Modi as Prime Minister.

Tomorrow, doctors in India will stage a protest against Ramdev’s remarks that millions have died from taking allopathic medicines for COVID-19 infections.
