How to help Indians during the COVID-19 resurgence

Over the past year, Global Indian Times profiled two philanthropies which are helping Indians during the COVID-19 pandemic. Those in India can donate directly to them while those outside India can do so via phlanthropies registered in the U.S.

Aseema runs four schools which educate 2,700 poor children in and near Mumbai. In this interview Dilbur Parakh, founder, describes the work Aseema does, including tackling the impact of COVID-19: Celebrities help schools for slum kids in Mumbai.

For those outside India, all donations to this philanthropy, which is registered in the U.S., go to aiding Aseema’s efforts in India: Friends of Aseema,

Safe Water Network provides access to cheap, clean water to 1.3 million people in India as this article by Marissa Xhafa describes: COVID-19 brings up the importance of safe, cheap water in India.

For those outside India, here is the link to this U.S. registered philanthropy: Safe Water Network.

If you contribute to either Aseema or Safe Water, kindly mention Global Indian Times for bringing them to your attention.
